The Legal Studies Department at UIS has a job opening for a permanent Clinical Instructor. For more details, please see the information provided below.

Position Description:  Legal Studies, an interdisciplinary department in the College of Public Affairs and Administration at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS), seeks applications for a Clinical Instructor position with expertise in law, a record of academic excellence, and litigation experience. Also required is the ability and willingness to teach legal research and writing, trial advocacy, lawyering skills courses, and to coach the Mock Trial Team. The Clinical Instructor will have the opportunity to teach other courses in their area of specialization. This is a non-tenure track position with an annual renewable contract. The position will begin on August 16, 2018.

Candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school or have a foreign equivalent degree AND be licensed to practice law in the United States. An additional advanced degree is preferred. The candidate must be willing to work as a member of a collegial, interdisciplinary faculty.  Teaching experience at the college, university, or law school level is required. Candidates must be willing to teach in both an on campus and online format; prior online teaching experience is a plus.

The Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University, seeks applicants for a 9-month, tenure track position in legal studies at the rank of assistant professor to start on August 16, 2018. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses across the paralegal curriculum including commercial transactions, real estate, probate law and intellectual property.
